2024-25 ENROLLMENT INFO & MORE

We hope you are enjoying your summer break. Can you believe we are at the halfway point?! USD 309 staff are continually preparing for the upcoming school year and are excited to welcome students back into our buildings on August 15th and 16th. We have several back-to-school activities planned so please keep an eye on your emails, texts, and social media, for updates and important dates. We hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and look forward to seeing you soon!

2024-25 ENROLLMENT

RETURNING STUDENTS

If any of your children have ever attended USD309, please utilize your PowerSchool Parent Portal Account to access Online Enrollment, AND to update household and demographic information.

Log In (Issues? See the section below on the Portal)
Go to the "FORMS" icon on the left-hand side of the screen in the far left column of choices.
You will now see a list of forms that you will need to enter any updated or requested information. There are 3 categories: General, Returning, and Student Registration. All forms in all 3 categories should be completed.
Click on the very top form named "1R Student Info Update" and continue to complete ALL Enrollment forms.

It is very important to have all updated student data information in PowerSchool for your student(s).

Once you have completed all forms and they show the "pending" status, your information is ready to be finalized by USD 309 Staff.

returning families can also complete enrollment at our in-person event on aug. 6th, if preferred. computers will be provided.

2024-25 ENROLLMENT

NEW STUDENTS

Families that are NEW to USD 309 can start the enrollment process by filling out the

2024-25 Open Enrollment application, linked HERE.

The paper application(s) can be turned into the front office of the appropriate USD 309 school starting August 1st.

Every new student has to have an application.

Please note: You will also need to attend enrollment at Reno Valley Middle School to complete the enrollment process on August 6, 2024.

PRE-K ENROLLMENT

PLEASE PLAN TO ATTEND OUR IN-PERSON ENROLLMENT EVENT ON AUGUST 6TH TO ENROLL YOUR CHILDREN INTO PRE-K AT SOUTH HUTCHINSON ELEMENTARY OR NICKERSON ELEMENTARY FOR THE 2024-25 ACADEMIC YEAR!

Once you have completed all forms for enrollment, you can finalize the student registration process by paying online via MySchoolBucks or paying via Cash/Check at the pay table during our district wide Enrollment day on August 6th, 2024. After August 6th, you can also visit your students' respective school(s) and pay directly to the building secretaries in the front offices.

The National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs has been reinstated for School Year 2024-2025, offering school meals at the paid, reduced, and free rates. Families who believe they may qualify for free or reduced-price meals, or receive Medicare Benefits, are encouraged to complete an Application for Free or Reduced-Price School Meals during the enrollment process for the 2024-2025 school year. Families who do not qualify for free meals will be responsible for paying for their child(ren's) meals at the reduced or paid rates.

The USD309 Food Service Department would like to ask that everyone apply to qualify for Free & Reduced Student Lunches. This will help to determine if we can help save not only on your students' meals, but also get you savings on your Textbook Fees. If you qualify for Free Lunches, with our program, you will not be charged any Textbook Fees. If you qualify for Reduced Lunches, you will only be charge 50% or half of the Textbook Fees.

The online Free & Reduced application will be found in your Enrollment forms in PowerSchool - please find it under 309 Food Service (VERY IMPORTANT).

USD 309 HEALTH INFORMATION

IMMUNIZATION RECORD: Must be up-to-date, is required for all students. If exempt, new paperwork is required each new school year.

MEDICATIONS: If your student(s) will take medication or receive any medical treatment at school, please update ALL health forms in the online enrollment process. You can update your medical authorizations in the Health Online Enrollment form. This gives us permission to give meds like ibuprofen, tylenol, etc. while student(s) are in school.

PHYSICALS

Higgins Chiropractic in Hutchinson will once again be providing FREE SPORTS PHYSICALS for RVMS and Nickerson High School students Monday, August 5th through Friday, August 9th. You will need to call Higgins Chiropractic at 620-662-9272 to make an appointment for your physical. Please have your end of the physical paperwork filled out before your appointment. Physical packets are available to pick up at the RVMS and NHS front offices. You can also print them out on the Nickerson High School website.
